Buying antigen tests

Hi, can I buy rapid antigen test kits somewhere (where)?

I tried to look for them in my nearest konbini, but couldn’t find them near masks and hand sanitizers.

How much do they approximately cost?

Are they only sold in pharmacies? What is the procedure of buying them?

I’d like to test myself before attending any bigger events.

  1. You can download the Excel file near the top of this list and search by your city or ward name for pharmacies that sell the antigen tests.

At least from my experience, I went to the pharmacy counter in the back (not the regular main register) and asked for an antigen test. They ask if you know how to use it, and if not, provide an explanation plus some reference materials. There is also an Ikea-style picture guide inside the kit. I got the Abbot Panbio test (that was the only kind they had) which was less than 1,200 yen. Very easy to use and results in 15-20 minutes.
