Vitamin D3 supplements (60,000 IU)

Hi, does anyone know if one can find 60,000 IU D3 supplements in Tokyo? The ones that you can take orally once weekly. If not, any alternatives for a severely D-deficient (egg-eating vegetarian…) person to help increase their stored D3? I'm willing to go to doctors about this for prescription-strength medicines if needed (does anyone know what types they offer?).

I've been diagnosed officially and would have got these supplements from my home country but had to return here on short notice.

Thanks so much!

  1. That’s a really high dose and really should be taken under doctor supervision whether or not you have a dx. Please go to a doctor. Any 内科 will do.

  2. 60,000 pills sounds like a lot, especially if you take one a week. It’s over a thousand years worth – it’s a great supplement if it increases your longevity to that extent!

  3. You can try iherb, i think i saw 60000 iu there but usually just 50000.

  4. Be out in the sun for a while. Just 10 minutes per day is enough. Also, milk.

  5. You can buy Vitamin D supplement, including the Nature Made, at any drugstore such as Matsukiyo. However, dose is pretty low.

  6. Why weekly, why not take 5000 daily? Also note, that you can get Vitamin D supplemented eggs in the supermarket.

  7. Don’t forget that D3 needs magnesium and K2 to go with it!! 🙂
