I'm currently in Hiroshima, moving up to Kyoto in a couple of days. I'm thinking of getting this pass the day I leave Hiroshima so it can cover my Shinkansen ride (I know it'll only take me to Osaka, but I don't mind changing about a little if it ends up being a lot cheaper and convenient in other ways).
My only worry is, is it very restrictive of what transport I can take when travelling around Kyoto, Osaka (2 day trips), and Nara (1 day trip) areas? I'd rather pay a little more to have the convenience and less stress of being able to use whatever transport I want / need to, when I want / need to use it.
I'm not sure whether it's worth buying the pass or just paying for transport as I go? I do put convenience above price to a certain extent, but I'm not exactly wealthy either so I'm trying to balance the two. Anyone that's used the pass before that can give me their opinion on it would be greatly appreciated!
