Migrating to Japanese = starting from 0

I live in the Philippines, I graduated here, basically have a life here but recently found out that my late japanese father had put me in his family registration

A little background: my mom lives in Japan and older brother has a family there too. Me and my sister grew up here in the Phillippines. That was the set up ever since.

But somewhat being in a family registration changes something.. I just don’t know if it is worth it, I lack japanese language knowledge, all my educational degree is in the Philippines, my insurances, savings and capability to work is in the Philippines.

Is it worth it giving it a try? If I will be a japanese citizen then I’ll have to give up being a filipino. What steps should I take?

I have been 2 years torn…
