Hey there, I was at Shinkyogoku shopping district today and I saw this clothing brand across a few stores called "Philoctetes", the shirts are super cool and I'd love to buy some but they are SO. EXPENSIVE. I tried looking it up online to see if there's other prices and for some reason I couldn't find it at all??
So I'm curious as to if this is just a local thing or if I'm missing something important about the clothing culture here. Thanks for your help!!

These distressed new denim tshirts are a popular look now. Probably unlicensed and definitely overpriced.
Fools are willing to spend money on things with a high pricetag if it has social cache value. Like when Kanye sells a white cotton tshirt for $2000.
It’s conspicuous consumption, and it’s a mental disorder.
You can get similar shirts to pop up if you try different combinations of “acid washed” “vintage” “oversized” “distressed” anime shirts on Amazon and Etsy. If they’re the same mass produced ones they’re probably relabelled.
if you want cheap anlme stuff, Uniqlo currently has an oshi-no-ko colab among others, and you can print your own photos on t-shirts there. Donqi also has some anime style clothes at their avanti store but idk about other locations. Of course all at reasonable prices.
I wonder how much they’ll need to pay if the studios press vharges.
