Is it possible to collect a JR West Shinkansen ticket without a physical credit card?
I foolishly assumed the process for JR West world be the same as for JR East were I was able to easily book online, posting using my virtual Revolut Visa card, and then enter the number of my virtual Suica card (on iPhone) into the JR East site to get my “ticket”. Problem is, the instructions state that I have to insert my physical credit card into the machine at a Station (I’ll be collecting from Shin-Osaka station – hopefully!). I don’t have the physical card, as I got myself a Revolut card last-minute after I couldn’t use either of my existing credit cards on the Japanese websites (something to do with incompatible 3D Secure maybe?), so there was no time to allow a physical Revolut card to arrive before my departure (takes over a week even with expensive express delivery, sadly).
Will I be able to get the ticket in person from a ticket office at Shin-Osaka, or should I cancel my online booking and just buy the ticket in-person on the day now?
Additionally, I have another ticket I need to book for Hiroshima to Tokyo. Can I book this on the JR East website, since I’d like to reserve seats for that one?
