1 week free in Naha. I have family there but no way to contact anyone as after my ancestors left Okinawa for the US, they didn't really keep up with relatives in the homeland. Bummer.
Anyway. Trying to form a to do list. That shrine in Naha is one stop. The castle. I'd like to see Motobu as that is where the maternal side is from. I don't speak Japanese. I can play a mean sanshin though.
I'm looking for recommendations on where else to go. I like wandering, people watching. I don't care too much about beaches, snorkeling.. want to go to an Onsen. No car, so expect to roam around Naha. Maybe will finagle boat trip to Motobu to breath in air of ancestors.
Please provide me with some other must sees near Naha.
