Is having a work experience in a Japanese company big plus for landing a SWE job in Japan?

Hi guys, thank you for reading this post.

Recently I had a talk with an agent from a job agency in Japan, and what he/she said was that

"having even a single year of experience in any kind of Japanese company is definitely a big plus to land a job as a software engineer in Japan".

Of course, I agree with his/her point that this IS a plus. However, from my perspective as a SWE, I am not really sure that if that experience is perceived as better than actual SWE skills and experiences.

Say like if I work for a black company in Japan(possibly one of those outsourcing companies, because they hire a lot of foreigners and every agent I have met recommended those 派遣会社s) for a year without much growth, does that still outweighs having a good experience in a good companies where my personal growth is guaranteed?

I am not sure of whether I should accept any low balls just to move to Japan. May I ask your valuable opinions?
