Hokkaido in mid October – Itinerary Check

A loose car drive around the island to allow for meandering and randomness. A bunch of these are from what I gleaned in other threads here. So, any caveats/additions to consider along the way?

DAY 1 CHITOSE / NOBORIBETSU

  • Lake Utonai (Bird Lake)
  • Upopoy (Ainu Museum)
  • Ninja/Edo Village (lolll)
  • Lake Kuttara Walk/View
  • Onsen time

DAY 2 NOBORIBETSU / HAKODATE

  • Jigokudani Hell Valley
  • Noboribetsu Dairy Farm
  • DRIVE (~3h)
  • Mt. Hakodate Views
  • Hakodate Eating Street

DAY 3 HAKODATE / SHAKOTAN

  • Hakkodate Morning market
  • Find things to see along the way (uhhh yeah, could use some help here!)
  • DRIVE (~4h)
  • Cape Kamui (Sunset)

DAY 4 SHAKOTAN / SAPPORO
Would love to hear any specific eats in Sapporo (have Midnight, Soup Curry Garaku, Esper Ito mapped out so far. I'm sure there's more, but haven't gotten into eating specifics other than markets.)

  • Nikka Distillery
  • Otaru
  • Ginko Avenue Walk
  • Benizakura Distillery
  • Hokkaido Agricultural Technical College Farmers' Market
  • (Could bring forward Blue Pond maybe if we've the time)

DAY 5 SAPPORO (Blue Pond Day)
We're really going for the blue pond.

  • Nijo Market
  • Ningle Terrace (looks cute, but also so touristy. Thoughts?)
  • Shirogane Blue Pond (Aoiike),
  • Panoramic Flower Gardens, Farm Tomita. Probably nothing to see at this time.
  • Fukiage open-air Onsen. This will be a game-time call.
  • Otokoyama Sake

DAY 6 SAPPORO

  • Sapporo Morning Market
  • Hokkaido Shrine & Sweets
  • Ecorin Village? Probably closed.
  • Eat Ebi Ramen at the Airport
