Hi! First, thanks for reading. Second, some context: My boyfriend and I will be going to Japan for 4 weeks in mid September. It will be our first time there, and we really want to visit a nice, quieter place hoping to relax and enjoy nature for a few days (4-7 days). Searching, we found Takayama, Kanazawa, Hakone. Are these good options for countryside Japan? Would you recommend somewhere else?
Background: We are both last 20s, foodies, love hiking. For this time our trip is going south, so Hokkaido it is not an option for us. We can rent a car if necessary.
