Is it true that I should not mention anime as my motivation in being an ALT or CIR? It's just that, from the stuff I researched, the rationale is that everyone already knows anime and it's nothing special anymore.
And based on what I'm seeing so far about the JET Program, it's about having something to give to both the Japanese community as well as your own country. And anime, from what I can see, doesn't seem to do that at all…..
To add, I'm aware that Japan is not just about anime; and that even to this day, it's still considered a niche hobby. (unlike "normal" hobbies like drinking in izakayas, perhaps 🤣🤣🤣)
It's just that my real goals are honestly anime-driven. As crazy as it sounds, my real goal in learning Japanese and being able to practice it is to become a voice actor in Japan.
