Best software (or web app) course just for learning to understand verbal Japanese?

Learning Japanese has always been a daunting curiosity of mine. I feel like simply understanding basic Japanese verbally would be a comfortable starting place for me and may inspire enough motivation to take it further.

I’d prefer not to work with anything flash card based atm. Just something I can follow along with, with lots of next buttons and quizzes. Thanks!
