Switching NISA from MUFG to Rakuten証券

Hey guys,

Total beginner here when it comes to investing, but basically I started a few weeks back and invested in eMaxis Slim SP500.
I've been doing some research here and there and saw that there's some other funds I'd like to invest in, but aren't available on MUFG.

Many people recommended Rakuten証券, so I applied there. Created my account and everything and would like to open the NISA here.

Now, it looks like since I've already started with MUFG (which is my main bank that my salary goes into btw), it looks like I'll have to cancel it in person since cancelling it online isn't doable it seems, and then switch to Rakuten証券 with prove that I cancelled it. It says they require 勘定廃止通知書 or 非課税口座廃止通知書 or 非課税適用確認書.

As for the timeline, it only seems possible to cancel and switch between October and December. So if I cancel on October 1st, will my current funds go over to Rakuten or will I need to sell all of it and then "re-buy" at Rakuten again?

Does anyone have any experience as to how this works? Would it still be a good idea to keep investing monthly on MUFG until I do the switch, or should I stop?

Really kinda lost here now… Was planning on investing around 50k yen a month into NISA, but not sure if I should do it now for the next 3 months.

Any help/advice would be highly appreciated!

Thanks a lot!
