3. There’s a market here for a Japanese mobile sim provider to register / partner as a virtual ‘travel agency’ – to both deliver data and to set up comms channels with tourists.

   Add the income they would make from the personal data they could sell…

   Can’t wait for Japan to open up with less travel restrictions.

4. What demographic are they trying to please? Surely business is suffering, covid cases will be unaffected either way, does the average citizen care? It seems to me like everyone knows it’s ridiculous but nods in agreement that ‘ah yes we should be careful ‘ and then just kinda sorta somehow agrees on doing something not too different from what’s being done already.

5. Any idea how detailed the itinerary has to be? Or how strictly followed tourist need to adhere to it?

   I messaged three different travel agencies and am waiting to hear back. If it’s really loose, as if, I can say “Tokyo for two weeks” basically and that’s it, then okay! But if it’s like: Day 1, location a,b,c. Day 2: location d,e,f. Day 3…. Then ugh!!

   Anyone hear about how strict or loose they are going to be?
