So I’ve moved around 10 mos ago in my 1st floor apartment, no complaints until around early June. I thought someone just moved in so I didn’t mind the dragging of some heavy stuff, vaccum/vibrating machine like sound above. Not until it’s consistently happening from evening to the wee hours of the morning. I complained by email to the real estate company almost everyday. They sent the usual notice to the bldg but this guy’s mailbox is full (his only, out of all tenants) even until today so I assume he doesn’t care. They said that they called the 2F guy several times and that he doesn’t own any kind of machine or whatsoever and that he’s sleeping and didn’t hear/know about any sound. Fucking liar.
I felt hopeless with the agent so I called the police one night and yeah useless too. Police said they can’t hear anything at the moment so they can’t talk to that person and WOW, as how they sounded, i was even the one thats been lectured. They said I should wear earplugs (i am wearing 2 btw, earplugs and earmuffs) to avoid trouble. Like really? I AM the one being troubled here, sir.
It’s not like loud loud but the consistent machine vibration is enough to wake you up from sleep, even with my earplugs and earmuffs on.
So then the agent offered if I want to move to the 3F (no upstairs neighbor) and that they would negotiate the rent. I said I’ll think it over.
I moved out of the school dormitory due to noise and now I’m in the same situation again. I am thinking, why is it us that’s being troubled here, are the ones that need to adjust? While they can live their daily lives as they please, at any time of the day?
I am buying an audio recorder so that I can have proof to the police/agent but I am not sure how it will change things. Is there anything else I can do aside from moving? Any passive aggressive suggestions? Lol I hate the idea of him living normally and getting away with it while I am struggling.
My alarm is 6:45 am and I’m forced to get up at 3:30 am because of this asshole. Sorry for the long post. Have a great weekend ✌️
