perhaps the 1970s but that's purely a guess
Unfortunately I have not been able to find the info online/etc. I'm sure the staff would know, perhaps someone who speaks better than me (ie "everyone" :O ) could ask next time you're in

(A local told me that is indeed the original, first "animal sculpture sign" along the strip, but she didn't know the decade. I've always assumed that was the case, it's the "original one" but perhaps that is wrong anyway.) (That part would appear to be incorrect or my misunderstanding.)
