Itinerary check for 6 days Osaka and Kyoto (Honeymoon)

My partner and I are planning a honeymoon trip to Japan, focusing on Osaka and Kyoto, and we would love your feedback on whether our itinerary is logical and feasible. We want to make sure we can cover all these amazing places without feeling too rushed. Budget is generally not a problem, but we’re not looking for Michelin-priced dinners. Here’s our detailed plan with more timestamps:

For reference, in Kyoto, we are staying in Higashiyama Ward, and in Osaka, we are staying in Chuo Ward. After our time in Japan, we will be heading to South Korea.

Kyoto:

Day 1:

  • 10:00 AM: Start the day at Don Quijote (Don Don Donki) – I love these stores (visited them in Malaysia)
  • 11:30 AM: Visit Tofuku-ji Temple
  • 2:00 PM: Head to Fushimi Inari Taisha to walk through the torii gates.
  • 6:00 PM: Dinner at Teppan Tavern Tenamonya

Day 2:

  • 8:00 AM: Explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Tenryu-ji Temple
  • 10:00 AM: Togetsukyo Bridge
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch at KIJUROU in Arashiyama
  • 1:30 PM: Stroll through Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka streets.
  • 3:30 PM: Walk the Philosopher's Path
  • 6:00 PM: Dinner at Kyoto Tsuburano

Day 3:

  • 8:00 AM: Travel to Nara and visit Nara Park
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch at Okaru restaurant
  • 2:00 PM: Visit the iconic Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)
  • 4:00 PM: Explore Nijo Castl
  • 6:00 PM: Head to Kiyomizu-dera
  • 8:00 PM: Dinner at Sushi-Kappō Yamabiko

Osaka:

Day 4:

  • Morning: My wife has planned a surprise for my birthday, so I’m excited to see what she has in store!
  • 3:00 PM: Visit the Osaka Aquarium.
  • Evening: Explore Dotonbori, trying street food and have a night out.

Day 5:

  • 9:00 AM: Start the day at Osaka Castle
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch at Kuromon Ichiba Market
  • 2:00 PM: Visit Shi-Tennoji Temple Market for some unique shopping and cultural experiences.
  • 4:00 PM: Head to Shinsaibashi for more shopping and sightseeing.
  • 6:00 PM: Dinner at Dotonbori
  • 8:00 PM: Take a boat ride on the Dotonbori Canal

Day 6:

  • 9:00 AM: Visit the Umeda Sky Building.
  • 12:00 PM: Have lunch nearby.
  • 2:00 PM: Explore Tempozan Harbor Village
  • 4:00 PM: Visit Tsutenkaku Tower
  • 6:00 PM: End the day at Sumiyoshi Taisha
