Check engine light turned on in car and two garages told me I have to go to the main Subaru dealer

Hello everyone,

I have a Subaru R2 and the check engine light turned on recently. Today I went to a Yellow Hat who told me to go to a Subaru dealer, so then I went to a Subaru sub-dealer and they said I have to go to a main one. Is this true? I feel I will pay more at the main dealer.

When this happened in my home country, any garage would/could check the problem and take care of it.

Just looking for advice as this is the first time this happened to me while in Japan. My Shaken was just last February too.

Thank you in advance!

Update:
They said my O2 sensor is broken, and they want to charge 100000Â¥ to replace it. I have a 2005 Subaru R2 at around 115000km. Does that price make sense or is it too steep?
