hi all- so, i just got back from a trip to Japan where i explored Honshu decently (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Takayama, Kanazawa & Hiroshima) and am already looking to plan my next trip back- missing Japan way too much!
my next trip will start in Tokyo for a couple of days with some day trips to outer areas i didn’t get to explore, including the Izu Peninsula area as well as a stay in Niigata. i then am thinking of spending the rest of the trip exploring Hokkaido, Okinawa and Kyushu.
we are very interested in exploring other smaller cities and towns by foot as well as bike and other transport, trying out local cuisine (a passion of mine) and doing lots of hikes, scenic and nature exploration, cultural experiences ect. and already have a large list for the islands i mentioned above. however, i honestly only very surface level research can’t find too much for Shikoku that i wouldn’t already kind of be seeing and experiencing.
would it be worth looking into Shikoku further and what are some unique experiences, cuisine or natural scenes that make it worth the visit? or is it more worth my time exploring the above mentioned in further depth?
