Hi! Husband and I are going to Japan for two weeks in October. I'm a huge studio Ghibli fan and want to take a day trip to the forest that My Neighbor Totoro was inspired by. I would love some help planning. We will be staying in Tokyo and using public transit.
During the day trip my top priorities are doing a hike in the Totoro forest and seeing Kurosuke house. I'm not sure how feasible this is because as far as I can tell, the house is actually quite far from the forest.
Any advice for how to make this work would be greatly appreciated!
I also have a question:
-why are there so many Totoro forests? Was the movie inspired by all of them, or just Totoro forest number 1? Are they all beautiful or are some more scenic than others?
