Now that Tanahashi has restructured the (fictional) governing body and filled it with his own handpicked members, I believe for the first time ever their identities are public:
- Yuji Nagata
- Jyushin Liger
- Former NJPW Head Ref Tiger Hattori
- NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi
- NJPW Board Member Hitoshi Matsumoto
For the time being there is no chairperson. All members are on the same level and will split the committee’s various responsibilities among themselves; however Tanahashi will be watching over them to ensure they are carrying out their duties properly.
The committee oversees title matches and tournaments, and will now be more closely working with referees and officials to ensure fans see the best in-ring action. (This is likely mostly to give kayfabe reasoning for why referees will begin to stop putting up with HoT’s and other heel groups’ bullshit.)
