is there a way I can use paypal in person

I recently moved here and don’t have a bank account yet is there a way I could use paypal at a konbini or McDonald’s

  1. No. Just withdraw cash from your home bank account at an atm. PayPal is relatively unknown in Japan

  2. PayPay is the most popular payment app in Japan. If your bank participates in PayPay you can link it to your account. If not, you can charge it up at ATM machines. Setting it up is a pain but once you’ve done that you can use it almost anywhere.

  3. If you have a friend with a PayPal account, ask him if you can transfer to him in exchange for cash. Of course you should pay him something for that.

  4. No. Your best bet is to Paypal money to a Suica on your phone and use that at konbini or fast food restaurants.

    You can use other apps like Line Pay, but Suica will be the most convenient.
