1st time in Japan: 10days itinerary check

Hi guys,

in two weeks, my girlfriend and I are going to travel to Japan for the first time, from Italy.
We are excited about this life-changing trip and we are working on a possible itinerary to enjoy our stay and make this travel unforgettable.

We are 39 and 28 years old and we would like both to see the main attractions of Japan and, most of all, to taste some real Japanese traditions.

Can you please check if the following itinerary is too much or if we are doing some unforgivable errors in the planning?

This is our current idea:

—— Tokyo ——

  • Day0 (26 July), flight from Rome to Tokyo

  • Day1 (27 July), land at Haneda Airport terminal 3 at 9:50am.
Transfer to the APA hotel in Kabukicho using Keikyu Airport Line + Jamanote Line.

Check-in at the hotel.

Afternoon: walking around Shinjuku and Shibuya.
Evening: dinner at Omoide Yokocho and night at Golden Gai.

  • Day2 (28 July),

Morning: 10:00 Free Walking Tour in Asakusa (2h long w/ visit at Senso-ji temple)

Afternoon/evening: Ueno + Akihabara

  • Day3 (29 July),

Morning Tsukiji market + TeamLab Bordeless (11:00)

Afternoon/evening: Ginza + Odaiba

——— Kanazawa———

  • Day4 (30 July),

Morning: Shinkansen to Kanazawa (2.5h), check-in in nice hotel with a small onsen
Probably renting a bike. Lunch at Omicho Market.

Afternoon: Kanazawa castle + Kenroku-en

Evening: walking around Kazuemachi Chaya District and/or Nagamachi District.

Searching for a small jazz bar (any suggestion?)

——-Kyoto———-

  • Day5 (31 July),

Morning: Shinkansen to Kyoto (2h), check-in in a ryokan in Gyon

Lunch at Nishiki Market

Afternoon: Fushimi-Inari + Tofuku-ji temple

  • Day6 (1 August),

Morning: Kinkaku-ji golden temple + imperial palace Kyoto Sento

Afternoon: Walking from Ginkaku-ji (along the Tetsugaku No Michi) to Nanzen-ji

if there is time, visit to Heian temple

Evening: dinner at Gyon

  • Day7 (2 August, my birthday :-)),

Morning: Arashiyama + Okochi Sanso Garden + Tenryu-ji

Afternoon: Iwatayama Monkey Park

Evening: dinner in Pontocho

  • Day8 (3 August)

Morning: check-in in an another ryokan in Gyon

Walking in the park next to Yasaka and Kodai-ji temples

Afternoon: Kiyomizu-dera + Sannenzaka street

  • Day9 (4 August)

Day trip to Nara + Osaka. We would love to see a bit of both of them, but we know that it is probably too much. Should we skip one these two? Which one is suggested?

——Tokyo——-

  • Day10 (5 August)

Morning: Shinkansen back to Tokyo

Check in in a small hotel in Hamamatsucho

Free day to to/see whatever we like or just to rest and enjoy the last day 🙂

Maybe a Sumo experience.

  • Day11 (6 August)

Travel back from Haneda to Rome

Every recommendation is highly appreciated and I would like to thank you in advance for it.

Ciao!
