What are some amazing but under appreciated Japanese designs?

[I started a video series that’s basically a love letter to the more everyday aspects of Japanese design!](https://youtu.be/wlQJjs2Wm3Y)

What are some under appreciated aspects about Japanese design could I cover in the video series? Would love to hear your suggestions\~

The first episode is about how Japanese design is so much more than their minimalistic stereotype! Rather, it’s a bit overwhelming and cluttered to cater to Japanese people’s needs. Hope you guys can give it a watch and for some feedback!

  1. I like the packaging for mintia mints; you open the little flap and a single mint sits in its own wee notch. very elegant~

  2. That was a great video! A few months ago I was researching about the subject and was unable to find any good articles or videos that weren’t all about minimalism.

I’m personally a big fan of the metabolism (メタボリズム) movement in japanese buildings.

I’m really excited to watch the one about japanese websites, so I hope you keep doing it 🙂

  3. Why is it that Japan has some of the worst website interfaces on the planet? Overcrowded and confusing.
