People getting off trains late

I’ve been working remotely for more than 2 years now due to Covid but I’ve started going to the office a couple of times a month and realized that a lot of people get off the train late. They go to the door as people are getting on and have to push through the flow of people getting on the train.

I thought that this was due to people staring at their phones and realizing that it’s their station late. But I don’t think this was happening much pre-Covid.

Have anybody else realized this? What’s the cause? Or am I just (un)lucky?
