Hi, Intermediate Japanese learner here who still stumbles over both recognition and recall of numbers (especially large numbers) in the wild, especially in speech. Does anyone have any tips?
I am making an anki deck with general numbers I encounter at work etc, for both recognition and recall, but it is not really working for me yet.

I had troubles with large numbers until I moved to Japan and started using Japanese currency. Then after I had actually used ¥1,000 and ¥10,000 notes in transactions, I began to envision them when I thought of large numbers. For example, if I needed to say “50,000” I’d think to myself “ok, 1万 is a ¥10,000 note, so 5万 is just 5 of these, so it would be “ごまん”
