  1. Is it realistic to open AirBnB’s in Japan? I thought the government tried to discourage them….

  2. sounds like bs that can easily be refuted? just browse Airbnb and you’ll see that yes, there’s a bunch of houses scattered throughout rural areas that I can imagine may be vacant if not for Airbnb traffic. but it’s blaringly obvious that the vast majority of properties are located in the big cities. there’s absolutely no way that the majority of those listings in the middle of Tokyo or Osaka would be vacant if not for Airbnb. from experience I can also say that a lot of those listings are all ran by a handful of people who I assume are some sort of realtors specializing in Airbnb or something. so in short, I can’t believe that this survey is representative of the people offering places on Airbnb at all.
