Moving to Japan with Computer Science degree, but no experience

Hello everyone,

So, I am graduating with my bachelor's in Computer Science next year, and have been researching the idea of moving to Japan shortly after graduating, but had concerns regarding employment. I have taken as many Japanese classes my school offers, and working on it during my free time so I'd say I'm in between N5 and N4, but hope to be N3 before I move.

I know many people I've seen say you should wait until you have 3 years of experience in a certain field prior to relocating, but how likely is it to find work in the IT field without experience in the industry? As I have also seen plenty of people saying there's a major shortage of IT staff, so I wondered if in this industry it'd be different.

I am not against working as an English teacher for a short time while I improve my Japanese, but really don't want to get stuck in a position where I cannot find other work and become stuck as an English teacher. I've seen some posts regarding the data center technician positions and how you don't need any experience, but don't want to bank on that, so any insight on that would also be appreciated 🙂
