It’s ok for basic Japanese.
You can get a text books to teach you better.
Genki or Japanese From Zero are good books to start with. Genki is more suited for classrooms.
[Tae Kim ](https://guidetojapanese.org/learn/) Is a free grammar website.
I tried rosetta stone for a while as well as duolingo, when I eventually switched over to the beginner books of Tobira some stuff transferred over well but I definitely did not learn hardly anything until picking up these textbooks. That’s just me though, you may have a different outcome.
Btw I personally love the Tobira Beginning Japanese books as an alternative to Genki.
Busuu is an alternative that I find really useful. Pricey though. If you didn’t know btw you can get Rosetta stone for free as long as you have library card
It’s a good example of a successful marketing campaign and little else.
I did not like Rosetta Stone. There is no explanation of grammar. The differences between Japanese and English are so great you will need an explanation.
