hi!! my family and i are planning to travel to osaka for 7 days in February 2025. we've visited tokyo multiple times and at least once a year. it was really enjoyable and we like it there but would like to check out other parts of japan as well. apparently it's gonna be really cOLD in february? according to the reports and stuff but what kinda weather can we really expect?
are there more things to do or places to visit on weekends? or are weekdays better?
i admit, it's been abit overwhelming looking for activities and places to visit 😭 so it'd be great to have suggestions and recommendations for that! here's more information:
we aren't into touristy activities like sightseeing, taking photos at nice places, visiting iconic landmarks, hiking or any nature kinda stuff 💀
we take it easy and kinda laid back, sometimes we would be back in the hotel by 7pm and go out for dinner nearby?
We really enjoy playing crane games, visiting arcades, gacha machines, donki, some anime stuff, video game related stuff, visiting cheap discount stores (daiso, 100yen, OK, Can Do! kinda shops haha), maybe checking out their grocery stores. when everyday we spent in tokyo, we would visit TAITO, GIGO and just any arcades or crane machines we came across.
So it'd be great to have recommendations on which areas to visit for the activities above and stuff like that 🙂
as we are going to take the airport bus from KIX to our hotel, the bus takes us to Namba OCAT or Kyoto station so we plan to live in either one of these areas.
i managed to find a hotel near Osaka Namba area for about 520USD? i'm not sure if that's a good deal? there's also a hotel near Kyoto Hachijoguchi and it's about 420USD.
Are Namba or Hachijoguchi good areas to live in? Like activities wise and convenience sake. Accommodations wise, we prefer to stay in hotels and my family aren't too kin on AIRBNBs lol.
is it better to stay in kyoto or osaka, based on our interests? also, there are so many transport passes 😭 i'm not sure which ones to get either…
TLDR:
