Hey all! Planning is in my early stages as we are going to Japan for a little over 2 weeks in April from 6-23; flights are booked.
Would love to know if this is a manageable base itinerary, what to add/remove and recommendations for hotels. we’ve never been before. I do have many tattoos just an fyi for onsen recs. I’m not looking to plan every house of every day; so this is loose plans mostly but days are set pretty solid of when we will be where.

April 6: this is our flight day.
April 7: land Haneda around 4pm Tokyo time. Planning on hopping bullet train this evening into Osaka.
Thinking about looking into hotels nears JR station as I think this would be most convenient for my plans; any recs here would be great.
April 8: Osaka day. Dotonbori, shopping, tourist stops.
April 9: Universal Japan day.
April 10: Day trip to Hiroshima.
April 11: Day trip to Awaji Island. Want to check out that Godzilla zip line and museum if going to this area is worth trip out for other things as well. Recs here would be great as well. Last night staying in Osaka area.
April 12: Early check out, head to Kyoto. I am really interested in staying at ryokan with private onsen in this area. Have heard nice things about Hotel Kadensho. If you’re stayed, thoughts and practically of staying here and checking out Kyoto?
April 13: Kyoto day. Want to check out Kibune River area around Kyoto as well.
April 14: Nintendo Musuem in Kyoto, additional stops in touristy areas of Kyoto. Take later bullet train ride to Tokyo to stay rest of trip. Thinking of staying in Shinjuku area.
April 15: Day trip to Kamakura. Visit Akira Kurosawa’s grave, check out on ocean town; sights of Fuji. Back into Tokyo for night.
April 16 and 17: I am a big Disney fan so these days I want to dedicate to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. And is it truly worth it to stay a night or 2 on their hotels for perks/easy access?
April 18: Tokyo. Want to see Harajuku, Ueno, Shibuya; can do these in whatever order is best recommended. Ghibli Museum is a must do (granted I can get tickets) TeamLab Planets.
April 19: Star Wars Celebration Tokyo. We are doing a day of the Star Wars convention at the convention center. Heading back to Tokyo after for nightlife.
April 20-22: Tokyo. Want to check out a few places like Square Enix Cafe, Nintendo Store, Pokémon Center, Capybara Cafe, would love to use a bathhouse (needs to be tattoo friendly)
April 23: we fly back from Haneda.
This is extremely loose right now, as I said it’s very early planning stages but want to get ahead and would appreciate any/all tips and help. Thank you all – ありがとうございます！
