So, the worst case scenario happened on my Japan trip. I am left without my passport. It all happened in a 2nd street in harajuku, where I was holding a plastic bag with my passport, credit card, and $200 worth of cash. I tried on a pair of shoes leaving the bag on the shelf where the shoes had been. After walking to the mirror, and coming back the bag was gone. Extremely frusturated as I am usually overly OCD about these things i panick and run throughout the store looking but do not find it. Go to the Harajuku police station where through translate am helped by the officer who files a lost property report. He even goes to the 2nd street to look at the cctv. On that cctv he sees a couple pick up my bag after I had left it. He does say that he thinks they were looking for me outside the store due to the fact they didnt leave immediately and waited out front. But it has been 4 days and I still have not been contacted. Later today I am returning to harajuku to check on the 2nd street along with the police station. I have an appointment at the embassy scheduled tomorrow as a last case scenario, my flight is wednesday. Any advice/ help would be appreciated. I have also left my credit card active but it hasnt been used once. Is there any place it would be turned in other than the police station?
