My father just died last week and I'm in the process of gathering everything to claim the insurance he left behind. I know in America (where I'm from) life insurance is tax-free, but will Japan tax me on it? Ive been in Japan just a few months short of 5 years on a working visa.
I figured I might need to talk to an accountant but I wanted to ask here first and see what everyone experience was.
