My Japanese Microsoft IME stops working after awhile but types on suggestions instead?

Hi! I’m new to using the Japanese keyboard on Windows and I have a slight problem. The keyboard no longer types and it instead gives suggestions for other words. For example, if I type “M”, it won’t type it but recommends words like “mail” or message”. I’m using the keyboard while in a game. Perhaps I turned on a setting?

  1. I had a lot of problems with MS Japanese IME in the past so I don’t recommend it, I recommend Google Japanese IME, never had any issues so far.

  2. I fucking despise IME, I’ve never had to use anything more infuriating. Sometimes the whole language bar disappears, wow, awesome.

  4. Hey all I am so grateful to have read this. Been having a really hard time getting the Japanese MicroSoft IME keyboard to work I at a borderline migraine level with it so thank you for suggesting the Google Japanese IME. It’s so easy to use and zero issues❣️
