Would Japanese people accept my gifts?

Hi everyone,

I currently work at Trader Joe’s and have had many Japanese customers who tell me how much they love TJ’s and our products. Recently, we got some cool small tote bags, and I was thinking of bringing a few with me on my trip to Japan in September.

I’m not sure how I’d give them out, but I thought it might be a nice gesture to offer them as a gift if we have an exceptional customer experience somewhere, considering Japan doesn’t have a tipping culture.

Would this be a good idea? Do you think people in Japan would appreciate receiving these tote bags? Or do you have other suggestions on what I could do with them?

Thanks in advance for your advice!
