Hi all, hope you're doing well.
I'm planning to study in Tokyo, Japan for a year starting next April, and I'm considering two schools:
- Intercultural Institute
- Academy of Language Arts (ALA)
I have no prior experience with Japanese, apart from watching anime (yes, I'm an anime nerd). I'm a 23-year-old male from Australia, and I'm leaving my full-time job to immerse myself in Japanese culture and language. I've been in touch with Go Go Nihon, and they've suggested these schools would be a good fit for me.
I'd love to hear your opinions on these schools—good or bad experiences—or if you have any other recommendations for schools in Tokyo that Go Go Nihon might not have listed. I'm specifically looking to study in Tokyo to make local Japanese friends more easily. They mentioned I need to complete at least 150 hours of documented Japanese study before enrolling, which I'm okay with.
Thanks for reading this long post, and any advice or info would be much appreciated! 🙂
