Need help choosing an itinerary that makes sense

Hi! I’ve never been to Japan but will be heading over on September 4th with a group from Korea and staying with them until September 14th where we end up in Tokyo, they leave and I stay till the 20th from Narita. Everything before the 14th is planned.

I’m not worried about fitting a lot in and will be fine just exploring. I’m happy to narrow it down to one prefecture if that might better suit. I’m nervous about navigating alone so would like to keep ease in mind too. Maybe 4 days one place and spend the 19th near Narita to catch my flight. It’d be nice to have a home base and relax/explore for a few days somewhere less crowded.

I don’t know what would make the most sense for my last days alone and have come with these options:

OPTION 1: Chubu Region

Day 1-2
•Travel from Tokyo to Kanazawa
-Kenrokuen Garden
-Kanazawa Castle
Day 3
•travel from Kanazawa to visit
-UNESCO of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama
-Stroll
Day 4-5
•Travel from Kanazawa to Takayam
-View the town
-Takayama Jinya and the morning market

OPTION 2: Tohoku Region

Day 1-2:
•Travel from Tokyo to Sendai
-Matsushima Bay
-Zuiganji Temple, Godaido Temple
Day 3:
•Yamadera and Yamagata
-Yamadera Temple
-Yamagata city
Day 4-5:
•Aizu-Wakamatsu
-Tsuruga Castle
-Ouchi-juju

OPTION 3: Visit one prefecture and relax. Those being:
•Yamanashi
•Hitachi/Mito
•Shizuoka
•Matsushima
•Nikko

I honestly think I’m leaning towards this last option and probably Hitachi and Mito. If there are any recommendations between option 3 choices I would greatly appreciate it. 🙏
Of course further research is required for this last option but if I could just make up my mind I can get it done.
Thank you and anything at all will help so much!!😁
