I have been to Japan 6 times since my first visit in 2015 (the first year when Japan's tourism boom started) and I am going to Japan this October again, all accommodations and flight tickets have been booked. Japan is the perfect country for tourism in my experience. I am in love with Japan's rich cultural heritage, traditions and folklore.

My top 3 favorite prefectures are:

1. Akita: Shirakami-Sanchi (UNESCO site) is so gorgeous and dining with Namahage (UNESCO intangible heritage) is my favorite Japanese cultural immersion experience. Japan is so rich in folklore and mythology. It's such a fascinating country to visit several times and NEVER makes me bored.
2. Hokkaido: stunning unspoiled landscape and seafood paradise.
3. Gifu: visiting and staying overnight at Nakasendo ancient town Magome is a magical experience.
