Hello,
I just wanted to share my recent experience. I had a sore throat last Sunday and developed a 40-degree fever on Tuesday. I went to see the doctor, who prescribed 200mg of amoxicillin to be taken three times a day for seven days. Three days later, my sore throat had not improved; in fact, it worsened. It had white spots all over, numerous small bumps, and it was extremely painful to swallow. So, I went back to the clinic today. Upon seeing the state of my throat, the doctor advised me to go to a larger hospital.
At the hospital, I had a blood test and an endoscopy. The doctor prescribed 250mg of amoxicillin. I'm surprised by how low the dosage is. When I had the same issue back in my home country, the doctor prescribed 625mg of antibiotics, also to be taken three times a day for seven days. Now, I'm really worried if this lower dosage will help me at all.
