I currently live around Demachi but looking at a place about 5 minutes walk NW of Kitaoji Station (which is super convenient for my commute). I don't know the area really, just wondering if anyone who lives/has lived around there (Shichiku is the area where the house itself is located) could share their experience.
I've walked around some and it seems basically like a pleasant, quiet, middle-class neighborhood with some very nice traditional houses. Nothing too exciting in the immediate vicinity but convenience-wise, lots of shopping and some very good cafes and such. And it's nice to be easy walking distance to Kitayama and the Botanic Gardens and the Daikokuji/Imamiya Jinja area (which is one of my favorite strolling spots in town).
