beware Klook for your JR passes – received voucher that was already redeemed

just got back from Japan a few days ago so wanted to share this negative data point about klook's reliability – Japan was great, already want to go back, gonna book things directly as much as possible though

we heard the horror stories about nonrefundable attraction bookings but through they were pretty good for passes, so we booked a few JR regional passes via Klook in May for a trip in June.

when we tried to redeem them one of the vouchers errored out on the ticket machine saying already redeemed. we then spent nearly 2 hours with the poor station staff using google translate – obviously told us we were SOL since 3rd party etc. etc. they also told us the vouchers were marked redeemed in May when we had not landed until June – very strange, not sure what's going on in that backend

klook ofc completely unsupportive – had to rebook the pass through JR directly and wasted an evening!
