Dos and Donts on Photoshoots

Hi, planning a prenup and family shoot in Kyoto in November. Just need to ask the following:

1. Are informal photoshoots (like prenup/family) generally okay in Kyoto Temples (edit: specifically in the garden area only)? Do we need to obtain separate approval or payment aside from the entrance fees?
2. Also, are temples normally open during Tuesdays in November in Kyoto (e.g., Kodaiji) for a shoot?
3. What are the worst and best times in November to visit Kyoto?
4. Any advice if ever?
