Traveling to Japan for the first time in October from USA.
There are 4 of us, will do a mix of touristy things and exploring. Ok with slow paced, probably no real hikes. OK with some night life, but not really a focus in this trip.
Land in NRT at 4:45pm on 10/19, and leave NRT at 5:00pm on Nov 9th
I am Not looking for suggestions of what to do day-day, I will fill this out later, I'm looking for suggestions on what cities/towns to go to, and if the timeline makes sense.
A tentative itinerary is:
10/19 10/21 Tokyo
10/21 10/22 Kanazawa
10/22 10/28 Kyoto
10/28 10/29 Kyoto?
10/29 10/30 Hiroshima
10/30 10/31 Hiroshima?
10/31 11/02 Hakone?
11/02 11/09 Tokyo
My questions are as follows:
- Plan to get to Kanazawa in the morning (~9am).
- Is 1 night enough?
- Any recommendations to substitute Kanazawa for?
- Is 1 night in Hiroshima enough?
- Have not decided if we will go to Miyajima Island.
- Is this a must? if so, should we stay the night in Hiroshima or Miayjima, and do we need more time?
- Have not decided if we will go to Miyajima Island.
- Considering Ryokan in Hakome for 2 nights between Hiroshima and Tokyo.
- Any votes for or against this?
- Lastly, any areas that we should consider going, any of these areas to skip, any date change recommendations?
