26F and I'm planning to move to Japan within the next 3 years (before I turn 31 for WHV purposes) – I have read a few posts on here asking similar questions, but I just wanted to get some opinions on whether my plan sounds feasible.
I'm a graphic designer with 6+ years of freelance experience. I'm currently completing my bachelor's degree in graphic design and will be finished at the end of 2025, with prospects to move in 2028 at the latest. Between now and 2028, I'll be studying Japanese and hopefully reach a level of N2 at least (currently N5). I will also get a job in a graphic design studio in my home country (Australia) for the 2-3 years before I leave, so I have some experience working for a company before moving, as well as my freelance experience.
I will probably head there on a working holiday visa first, and look for a job to transition to a work visa once I'm in the country (unless I find a job that will sponsor a work visa while I'm still in Australia).
If all else fails jobwise, I might enrol in a language school in Japan on a study visa instead just to get a further foot in the door.
If anyone has any pointers, they would be greatly appreciated!
