I left Tokyo 13 years ago but never closed my mufj account. I would like to go back this summer and withdraw the money left but heard that a new law as passed where inactive accounts are used to fund public work. If indeed my account was closed (especially since I no longer had a local address), would they still be willing to give me my money? Does anyone happen to know if there is a MUFJ branch with an anglophone? When I left, an employee at the Azabudai named K. Sieg was a big help but I'm not sure she's still there.
