  1. What kind of idiot thinks they can buy surface to air missiles on the streets of NYC? With drugs?! LMAO. They were watching too many movies.

  2. To be fair who wouldn’t wanna buy surface-to-air missiles that have meth and heroin with them?

  3. So he was running weapons with some Thais to sell to Myanmar. Got caught in a standard fbi setup then sting. That photo of him with the rocket launcher is ridiculous.

  4. He showed his face in that city for one freakin second and fate shovelled shit in his face

  5. Compared to a lot of the news I’ve been consuming lately, this made me strangely feel better.

  6. This whole story is awful. Trying to exchange meth and heroin for stolen missiles is a terrible thing. But it’s also really sad because it sounds like they were trying to supply the missiles to one of the ethnic groups being attacked by the genocidal government that took over by coup last year. China and Russia are supplying arms to the government, while there’s an ongoing debate on whether the West should be supplying arms to these groups directly.

  7. Silly Yakuza. You can’t buy surface to air missiles with drugs. What you need is a vending machine and a supermad bartender

  8. Drugs for weapons? This is 1980s level stuff, you need to get with the modern times Yakuza.

  9. The photo caption even seems to indicate they showed him the goods in ~~the Netherlands~~ *Denmark*.

“Gotta keep this transaction on the down low. Real clandestine. Meet us in New York City, even though we’ve shown our ability to smuggle them out of the country. Don’t forget the 2,200 lbs of fucking drugs.”

Fuck’s sake, I know they were successful, but these DEA agents need some training on plausible cover stories.

  10. …and here I was thinking that getting shot at with rocket launchers in the game Yakuza 4 was unrealistic. I stand corrected!

  11. Selling hard drugs is bad obviously.

    But what factions in Myanmar?

Considering the regime has conventional channels I suspect maybe it was “good guys” there?

We do live in a complex world.
