9 Days in Tokyo and Nagoya unusual itinerary~

Finally I will be able to visit Japan again and saw so many helpful replies in other posts, so that I decided to post my own itinerary and see if there are any kind of recommendations regarding my trip!

I will travel solo in the end of September to Japan and will mostly have Tokyo and Nagoya as a base.

*Disclaimer: In the past I lived in Kobe/ Japan for one year were I mostly visited the southern half of Japan. I already visited Nagoya and Tokyo before (main sightseeing spots). So I will only use the first day (in Nagoya) to revisit some places and generally finding new things in and around the city.

Day 1: Travel to Japan
– Arrive at Haneda Airport at 1 pm
– use public transportation to the Hotel in Akasaka
– Stroll around the area, eat dinner and rest from the flight

Day 2: Tokyo
– Travel around the Yamanote Line and strolling around different areas I did not visit before (I already have some in mind)
– trying to book/attend a tour of the National Diet (House of Representatives) at 3 pm
– Shibuya/Shinjuku in the evening (Round 1, Izakaya…)

Day 3: Day trip to Nikko

Day 4: Tokyo -> Nagoya
– Travel in the morning from Tokyo to Nagoya via Shinkansen
– Stroll around Nagoya, visiting the planetarium again, Nagoya castle (just go with the flow and my mood this day)

Day 5: Day trip (undecided)
– Hida Takayama
– Some place in Gifu Prefecture?

Day 6: Day trip Tokoname (32 minutes by Train from Nagoya)
– Tour Sawada Shuzo Brewery or Morita Kosugaya Brewery
– strolling in town

Day 7: Inuyama; Nagoya -> Tokyo
– visiting Inuyama (takes about 30 minutes from Nagoya)
– Travel in the afternoon/evening from Nagoya to Tokyo via Shinkansen

Day 8: Tokyo
– Morning/Lunchtime ?
– Trying to get Tickets for The Making of Harry Potter (afternoon)

Day 9: Flight Home
– as my flight is in the evening I will do the last shopping on this day an go to an Sento/Onsen before the flight

Has anyone have any recommendations for the undecided Day trip on day 5? Any recommendations for other things in Tokyo besides the main attractions?

Depending on the weather I will change the itinerary accordingly.

Thank you so much for your help.

Edit: Izu (especially Atami, Day 5) would make more sense one the way to or from Nagoya to Tokyo. Maybe I will skip it this time.
