  1. So they believed Australians couldn’t handle 9%? Wonder if they’ll go with 6% for the US market as well…

I forsee a lot of hilarious content to appear on US social media following this launch.

  2. $4.50AUD a can? Someone tell Suntory the retailers are price gouging – standard rate seems to be ~$22AUD for a four-pack. If they were full sized cans, at least, I’d consider it more often. As it is, I bought some on special, at the launch, and wistfully dreamed of the Â¥150 (~$1.70AUD) cans I’ve had over the years, or the Â¥200 tallboys … Sigh. I’m saving my booze dollars until I can go back to that.

  3. The -196 Belows aren’t anywhere near as good as the Kiren Strong Zero/Seven etc – or at least the version that’s come to Australia . wish they’d export the Kiren stuff.

  4. This is gonna flop in America. The US is already saturated with “strong” alcoholic non beer non spirits drinks ranging from twisted tea’s to June shine to four locos. That’s a lot of competition. The article even mentioned if they brought over the lemon flavor, they would already be digging themselves into a hole by trying to compete with Mike’s hard lemonade. I can only see this being popular in big cities with a large asian population.
