I am on the cusp of ordering a Japanese futon mattress. It will go on a platform bed frame. Not the best air circulation but at least on wood and off the ground.
To give some background, I sometimes enjoy sleeping on the carpet floor so hard surfaces do not bother me to much.
My question, is, should I get it with wool? I see one place that offers wool on the outer portion wrapping cotton. What would be the benefit of having wool? And is it authentic to use wool in addition to cotton in Japan for the futon?
Note: I do not have a balcony so it will be a bit of challenge to try and hang this to air it once in awhile.
