年収見込み証明書 for Permanent Residence as a Freelancer

So, since everyone loves posts and questions about PR applications, I thought I should add mine to the mix. Been living here for 4 years and have been doing all my Visa applications successfully on my own and renewed it the last time in 2020 for 5 years.

This morning I applied for PR via the point system with 90 points and it seems my documents were in order, at least I wasn’t told anything out of the ordinary. Except one thing.

They asked me to send them a 年収見込み証明書 as well. Now, I work freelance and have a lot of clients, how does this one work for me? Usually this is created by the workplace, but I don’t have one big client where this would fit at all.

I plan to call them tomorrow for clarification, but wanted to ask here as well, if anyone has any experience with that.

  1. Do they know you’re a freelancer? I think I remember seeing on the immigration office’s website that you should submit your 確定申告 instead if you’re a freelancer.

Please let me know how the call goes tomorrow! I’m also planning to apply for PR in the next several months and am gathering information.
